structurEd Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of structurEd, operated by Structural Engineering Podcast LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By creating an account or using structurEd, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

structurEd provides educational resources primarily for individuals preparing for professional engineering licensure examinations, including PE and SE exams. Features may include practice questions, quizzes, solutions, study resources, performance tracking, reminders, and community-submitted educational content.

2. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.

Our collection and handling of personal information, including account deletion, are described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Community Submissions

Users may voluntarily submit questions, solutions, explanations, references, and supporting educational information for review.

Before submitting content, you must agree to these Terms and our submission requirements.

You retain ownership of original content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Structural Engineering Podcast LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to review, edit, adapt, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, and incorporate that content into structurEd and related educational materials.

We review submissions before publication and may edit, approve, reject, or remove them at our discretion.

If your submission is accepted, you may choose whether your name and/or a website link are displayed with it. Submissions do not entitle you to compensation unless separately agreed in writing.

Approved submissions may be associated internally with your account for moderation, attribution, and account-deletion purposes.

If you delete your account, identifying information and account associations connected to approved submissions will be removed or de-identified. De-identified educational content may remain available in structurEd under the license granted above.

4. Submission and Conduct Requirements

You may submit only content that you created or have the right to use.

You may not submit or use structurEd to distribute:

  • Actual, recalled, reconstructed, or confidential professional licensing examination questions or answers.

  • Copyrighted questions, books, codes, standards, reference materials, or other content you do not have permission to reproduce.

  • Confidential, proprietary, unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, or intentionally misleading content.

  • Malware or content intended to interfere with the security or operation of the service.

You may cite or link to outside resources, but you may not reproduce protected material beyond what you are legally permitted to use.

Users may report published questions for our review. We may remove reported or inappropriate content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • Use structurEd for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

  • Circumvent security or access restrictions.

  • Scrape, systematically download, reproduce, or redistribute the structurEd question database or other protected content without permission.

  • Use automated systems to extract content without our written permission.

  • Interfere with the operation or security of the service.

6. Educational Disclaimer

structurEd is a study and educational resource only.

Questions, solutions, explanations, and supporting information may be created by us or submitted by community members. We review educational content for correctness before publication; however, we do not guarantee that any content is accurate, complete, current, or error-free.

Engineering codes, standards, examination specifications, and licensing requirements change over time. You are responsible for consulting current official examination materials, codes, standards, licensing requirements, and other authoritative sources.

Use of structurEd does not guarantee eligibility for or passage of any examination and should not be your sole source of exam preparation.

structurEd is not professional engineering advice and should not be relied upon for the design, evaluation, construction, or modification of actual projects.

structurEd is not affiliated with or endorsed by NCEES, any licensing board, or any code or standards organization unless expressly stated otherwise.

7. Intellectual Property

Except for content owned by users or third parties, structurEd and its content, question database, software, graphics, branding, organization, and functionality are owned by or licensed to Structural Engineering Podcast LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use structurEd for your own educational purposes. This does not give you ownership of or permission to reproduce or redistribute structurEd content.

8. Sponsors and Third-Party Resources

structurEd may contain sponsor information and links or references to third-party websites, publications, codes, standards, products, or educational resources.

We do not control third-party resources and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security, privacy practices, products, or services. Links, references, or sponsor placements do not necessarily constitute endorsement.

Your use of third-party websites or services is subject to their own terms and policies.

9. Service and Warranty Disclaimer

structurEd is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, security, or fitness of the service for a particular purpose.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Structural Engineering Podcast LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of or inability to use structurEd.

This includes losses resulting from reliance on educational content, examination results, third-party resources, service interruptions, or loss of data.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

11. Suspension, Termination, and Account Deletion

You may stop using structurEd or request deletion of your account at any time.

When you request deletion, your structurEd user data is deleted immediately and identifying information associated with approved community submissions is removed or de-identified. Your login and authentication account is then separately deleted by an administrator, typically within 10 business days.

We will confirm when the administrative account deletion is complete.

We may remove content or suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, infringes intellectual-property rights, creates a security risk, abuses the submission process, or otherwise harms structurEd or its users.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as structurEd, our practices, or applicable requirements change. We will update the Last Updated date when changes are made.

Continued use of structurEd after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
