structurEd Privacy Policy

structurEd is operated by Structural Engineering Podcast LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). structurEd provides study resources primarily for individuals preparing for professional engineering licensure examinations, including the PE and SE exams.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information, including your name and email address.

  • Authentication information used to access your account.

  • Study activity, including quiz responses, scores, progress, question history, and performance data.

  • Community submissions, including questions, solutions, references, supporting information, and optional attribution such as your name or website link.

  • Optional profile information, including your state of residence.

  • Preferences and settings, including quiz and reminder preferences.

  • Time zone information used to deliver reminders at the correct local time.

  • Notification information, including permission status and technical information needed to send push notifications.

  • Technical and usage information, which may include IP address, device or browser information, operating system information, application activity, diagnostics, and related analytics data processed through Base44.

Providing your state and community-submission attribution is optional. structurEd does not request or collect precise GPS location for study or reminder purposes.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts.

  • Provide study questions, quizzes, solutions, and progress tracking.

  • Customize your study experience.

  • Deliver reminders and push notifications.

  • Review community-submitted content.

  • Display attribution when you choose to provide it.

  • Analyze usage and improve the app.

  • Maintain security and troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Respond to support requests and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your email address for marketing. We may send account, security, support, or service-related communications when necessary.

Community-Submitted Content

Users may voluntarily submit educational content for review. All submissions are reviewed before they may be incorporated into structurEd.

We may edit, correct, format, approve, or decline submitted content. If a submission is accepted, you may choose whether your name and/or website link are displayed with it.

Do not include unnecessary personal, confidential, or sensitive information in submissions.

If you delete your account, identifying information associated with an accepted submission will be removed or de-identified as appropriate. Educational content already incorporated into the structurEd question database may remain in a form that is no longer associated with your personal information. Ownership and licensing of submitted content are addressed in our Terms of Service.

Push Notifications

structurEd may send optional reminders related to Daily Questions or other study activities.

Notifications require permission from your device. You may change reminder settings in your Profile or manage notification permissions through your device settings.

We use your selected reminder time and device-reported time zone to deliver reminders at the appropriate local time.

Analytics and Service Providers

structurEd is built and hosted using Base44, which provides services including hosting, authentication, database functionality, analytics, security, and related infrastructure.

Base44 may process account, technical, usage, and diagnostic information on our behalf as necessary to operate and improve structurEd.

We do not use third-party advertising networks or targeted advertising analytics.

Sponsors and External Links

structurEd may display sponsor names, logos, images, descriptions, and links to sponsor or other third-party websites.

We do not provide sponsors with your name, email address, quiz responses, study performance, or account information solely because sponsor content appears in the app.

If you follow an external link, you leave structurEd. The third party may collect information under its own privacy policy and practices. We do not control or take responsibility for third-party websites, content, privacy practices, security, or availability.

How We Share Information

We may share personal information:

  • With service providers that help operate, host, secure, maintain, or improve structurEd.

  • When required by law or legal process.

  • When reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of structurEd, our users, or others.

  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the business.

We do not sell your personal information or provide it to sponsors for targeted advertising.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to operate structurEd, provide services, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

You may initiate account deletion at any time using the Delete Account option on your Profile page.

When you submit a deletion request:

  1. Your user data within structurEd is deleted immediately.

  2. Your login and authentication account is then separately deleted by an administrator.

Your authentication record may remain temporarily while the administrative deletion is completed.

Educational content you submitted and that has already been incorporated into the structurEd question database may remain after account deletion if identifying information has been removed or de-identified.

Certain technical information may also remain temporarily in backups or system logs until removed through normal retention processes.

A publicly available account-deletion page is also provided for users who wish to request deletion outside the app.

Your Choices and Rights

You may:

  • Update certain account information and settings.

  • Choose whether to provide optional state information.

  • Choose whether your name and/or website link are displayed with an approved submission.

  • Change or disable reminders and notification permissions.

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information.

Children's Privacy

structurEd is intended primarily for individuals preparing for professional engineering licensure examinations and is not directed toward children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, practices, or legal obligations change.

When we do, we will update the Last Updated date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate means.
